Please send through a description of what you are after with as much detail as possible, including:
Jewellery type (e.g. ring, earrings, pendant)
Materials (metal type and stones if applicable)
Inspiration photos or sketches
A budget if you have one
Indicate if there are elements of the design that you would like to match the description exactly or those which are more flexible (e.g. you definitely want it in sterling silver, but are open to different stone options).
Process and details
Making time
Custom work typically takes a little longer than ready to wear and ready to order pieces to allow time for consultation, design, and acquisition of materials. Once I have received and reviewed your request I will give you an indication of the time required based on the complexity of the design and my capacity, but generally this will fall between 4-8 weeks.
Cost
You can expect pricing to be a bit higher than ready to wear pieces to reflect the extra time and steps needed to bring your vision to life (including consultation, design, and material acquisition).
The final cost of the piece will reflect the desired materials and design complexity, so if you have a fixed or restricted budget, please let me know in advance so that I can adjust the design accordingly to accommodate.
Payment & refund policy
To protect both of us, the following terms apply to all custom orders.
Quote & confirmation
Once I have received your request and am satisfied that I have enough information to cost the job, I will send you a quote. Due to the fluctuation of material prices, you will have a fixed amount of time to accept or decline the quote and confirm the custom, which will be clearly stated on the quote.
Deposit
A deposit of approx 50% will be required before I begin making to confirm your custom order and cover the cost of materials & design.
Cancellations by you
- Cancelled within 48 hours of payment: full deposit refunded
- Cancelled after materials have been ordered: deposit refunded minus the cost of materials
- Cancelled once making has begun: deposit non-refundable
Cancellations by me
In the unlikely event that I am unable to complete your order due to illness, injury or unforeseen circumstances, I will notify you as soon as possible. Your deposit will be refunded and I will endeavour to find a suitable alternative maker to complete the work, if suitable for the type of job.
Balance payment
The outstanding balance of the cost for the piece will be due upon job completion, before your piece is collected or dispatched.
Design changes
Any significant changes to the agreed design after materials have been ordered may incur additional costs. I will always discuss this with you before proceeding.
Please note
I will not make pieces which directly copy or try to replicate other artists' work. If you have seen a piece from another artist which has inspired you, please describe which parts/elements you like about the work and we will discuss how this can be translated into something unique.
